When to Visit?
I recently took a 4 day trip over to Marrakech, to follow this up it seemed appropriate to tell you all what to expect before you visit. Also an ''Instagram guide'' to the city so you can photographs in the best spots! The best times to visit Marrakech are from March to May and between September and November. These shoulder seasons are known for their desirable weather and affordable hotel rates. I visited over Ramadan and we found everything running as usual, however we encountered some angry taxi drivers. Who were slightly on edge due to heat and hunger. One tip that was invaluable to our stay here was to agree with your cab driver the amount you’ll be paying before the journey begins. Secondly, do not take photos of the monkeys on chains or the snakes being charmed in the main square unless you’re willing to pay a hefty sum for the privilege. Lastly exchange your currency at the arriving airport, as the MAD is a closed currency.
Where to Stay? Fellah Hotel
Marrakech offers a variety of accommodation, from beautiful raids to unique boutique chic hotels like Fellah Hotel. This hotel stood out to me for it's unique position across fourteen acres of terracotta hued flat lands at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Its strengths lie in seclusion, yet the hotel is a convenient twenty minute drive from Marrakech airport and the old town market square of Medina. With ten villas (69 rooms) scattered around indigenous gardens under blue skies. Including large contemporary villas, Wat Po and traditional Hammam spas, yoga, creative workshops for kids and adults, an all day/night restaurant and bar, leaving the hotel is entirely optional. Since I was travelling with my siblings, I needed a child friendly environment and Fellah provided this so perfectly!
