It was great to have a reminder of what my hair is capable of and everything it represents.
If you're anything like me, I love finding inventive ways of reducing time spent on my hair care routine. Over the years I slowed down my heat usage, and I resulted to air drying my hair. This would take up to 48 hours, the struggle was real. Keyword, was! haha
Although the relationship with my natural hair has improved, I still seem to have disastrous time finding appropriate natural hair styling tools. After seeing a couple of demo's online on Dyson's social media, I knew they had answered every 4c girls prayers.
It may seem insignificant to some, but I believe that this is the first high-end, mainstream brand that has produced a tool designed for afro hair. When you consider that Dyson only launched haircare products in 2016 (whilst your faves have been ignoring us since 2001).
What do you love Tanaka?
The Dyson Supersonic is designed to keep hair healthy with an intelligent heat control system, which measures the temperature of the air leaving the machine and regulates the power so that it never gets to a point that causes extreme heat damage.’
The afro comb has been designed to provide tension suitable for different densities of hair and there’s rounded ends for scalp comfort.
Time is the biggest factor!
The entire process takes about 40 minutes, which shaves 30min off my normal drying time. I have found no bristles were harmed, and no brush heads hit the floor. Some of the pet peeves I have about other blowdryers, is my arms get tired or the tool getting so hot that my hair is literally smoking — I don't experience with the Airwrap. Overall, it's easy to use as a hair brush, leaving my hair incredibly smooth and a lot less fried thanks to the tool's temperature gauge.
